Happy Birthday, Bill Cosby! The CozMan!

Bill Cosby was born one this day in Philadelphia, PA in 1938. 69 today. One of the most popular entertainers of all time, first in comedy, where his albums earned him five Grammy awards, then in Las Vegas and elsewhere. He later starred in the television series, "I Spy," which was the first of three successful television series.

Some of my favorite Bill Cosby TV and Film moments include:

1. I Spy (1965 - 1968) The re-runs!
2. The Bill Cosby Show (1969-1971)
3. Goin Back To Indiana with The Jackson 5 (1971)
4. The Electric Company (1971)
5. Man and Boy (1972)
6. Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids (1972-1984)
7. The New Bill Cosby Show (1972-1973)
8. Uptown Saturday Night (1974)
9. Let's Do It Again (1975)
10. A Piece of the Action (1977)
11. Fat Albert's Halloween Special (1977)
12. The Fat Albert Christmas Special (1977)
13. The Cosby Show (1984-1992)

Some of my Favorite Bill Cosby albums we had on 33 LP are:

1. Bill Cosby Is A Very Funny Fellow (1963) - ("Noah! Right!" - classic.)
2. I Started Out As A Child (1964)
3. Wonderfulness (1966)
4. To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With (1968) (This is one of my favorites of all time! "The police are your Mommy and Daddy." LOL!)

*There's another Jazzy/Funky album (music and spoken word) he did with Quincy Jones they recently reissued too.

I have to get the boxset to all his stuff one day soon:

DC Peeps, remember that day when Bill Cosby came by Ben's Chili Bowl? He said he tries to stop by Ben's everytime he's in town to get down with them chili dogs. Bill Cosby also used to mention how much he loved Ben's and another DC chicken wing place in some of his concert routines. Was it Wings and Things? OK, now I know I am taking you back! You gotta be over 30 to remember that! ;)
