Part 2:

Could Michael Jackson Top Thriller?

Billy Bush's idea of a Thriller Part 2 Themed Album complete with Remixes, DVD's, and Web Saturation is actually one I have heard before in musical discussions, especially on-line. That has been discussed by many fans over the years. I think either MJ or Sony would already do that marketing move for his new one because many of MJ's singles from Thriller, Off The Wall, etc. are already available as Singles with DVD Videos on the flip side, etc.

A Thriller Part 2 in the way of a new MJ album that would build on Thriller's themes and be of that caliber sound-wise and quality-wise, complete with all #1 hits of each track or at least Top 10 quality? That is an interesting idea too that has been discussed a lot.

Thriller has been considered a masterpiece that achieved phenomenal worldwide success with people of all ages in the 80s. It's hard to think of going one-up on a Thriller in one lifetime from the same artist but I know it has been discussed many times and debated as well.

Thriller - 60 to 100 million copies sold and still counting worldwide.

That would be something else to see a new album of MJ's do that twice in one lifetime. I think MJ would have to get with Quincy Jones and Company again for starters! That has been debated too as to if that would be the key to making a new album of MJ's succeed that well again.
