Gordon Parks Birthday - "20th Century Renaissance Man"

Gordon Parks. Photographer. Musician. Poet. Activist. Film Director. Rennaissance Man. Gordon Parks (November 30th, 1912 - March 7th, 2006) was born on this day in Fort Scott, Kansas. He became known a photographer for Life magazine, director of The Learning Tree and Shaft, and was called a "20th Century Renaissance Man" by the NAACP, who awarded him its Spingarn Medal in 1972.
