I caught this commercial over the weekend. It is Gap's new Holiday commercial called 'Peace Love Gap' featuring Common. The music was produced by will.i.am. The Gap usually has what I call "stand out" commericals which are done with creativity and music. I think they did a good job with this one too.
BTW, Common's last album, 'Be' was off the hook!

Welcome to my official blog which contains news headlines of interest, pop culture, radio, tv, film, politics, history, music, concerts, theatre, books, magazine articles, tech, commentary, reviews, interviews, artists beneath the radar and more. They like to call my generation, "Generation X" but I prefer "Generation Connect"! Peace to you!

I think these spots are well done - except for rhyming "hood" with "hood" several times.
But my first reaction was 'sell out' and still is -- I'm pretty appalled that Common would do this "hoodie" promotion. I enjoy his work and seeing him live, but his rep has dimmed in my eyes. I thought of him as an "artist" - now to me he is just like the rest of the musicians who sell their souls for a few dollars.
washingtongardener, good point. Thanks for posting! Peace!
