Who is Corinne Bailey Rae?

Out of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, 27-year-old Corinne Bailey Rae's self-titled album Corinne Bailey Rae, corinnebaileyrae was originally released in the U.S.A. on March 7th, 2006.

According to music trade magazines, Corinne Bailey Rae was named "the number one predicted breakthrough act of 2006 in an annual BBC poll of music critics." She also became only the 4th female British act in history to have her first album debut at Number One.

A touch of Jazz, a touch of Blues, a touch of Soul, a touch of Neo-Soul, a touch of R&B. Something about her voice reminds me of Billie Holiday a little bit too.

Her single, "Put Your Records On" is getting more and more spins on Urban AC Radio.

VH-1 is also giving her video a lot of play.

I could also see this album getting spins on Smooth Jazz Stations if they haven't started already.

Corinne Bailey Rae will be appearing at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia in August!
