September 30th, 1975 - Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier squared off in a fight billed as "The Thrilla in Manila." Ali won the fight and retained his world heavyweight title when, after 14 rounds, Frazier's trainer refused to let him continue.
I was only 6-years-old when this happened but I still remember that excitement that something big was going on and all the adults talking about it that year and for years after, even up to today. I even had one of those Muhammad Ali action figures that I loved.
