Watching this live on TV today was a real attention grabber across D.C. People came to a stand still in cafe shops, stores, standing around outside storefront windows and more to see President-Elect Obama's Very First Press Conference in that capacity.

After 8 long years of seeing some of the worst press conferences I have ever seen a President give in my life a la President George W. Bush, seeing President-Elect Obama today restored my faith of what a Presidential Press Conference supposed to be, as I knew he would: Presidential and Professional.

What did I think of President George W. Bush's Press Conferences over these 8 years?

I have spoken on it before. I compare it to when you were in elementary, junior high and high school, you are in one of your main classes, a class that you really need, and your main professor has been out for weeks, months, so you get this whack, strange substitute teacher who the whole class takes total advantage of.

Though I never saw the White House Reporters treat George W. like that during his press conferences (they always showed him the utmost respect in my opinion) I think you can understand my comparison. The Press Secretaries over the years catch more of the heat in my opinion than The President!

Back to my comparison, you sit their as a student trying to learn above your classmates noise level with your head in your hands, trying to understand why the school hired such a fool in the first place to fill in until one day, a REAL BONAFIDE TENURED PROFESSOR walks into the classroom and you know, finally, we are getting a real teacher! Everybody sits up! Everybody quiets down. You think to yourself, Finally, It's About To Be On!
