Tim Russert: 1950 - 2008

I was so surprised and saddened yesterday afternoon to hear of the passing of Tim Russert. I really liked this guy. He was the main reason I tuned into Meet The Press each week. And I really enjoyed his interviews. He made watching Meet The Press interesting again. My first reaction was sheer disbelief. As I write this it's even hard to write about him in a past tense sense.

So vibrant, so energetic, so funny, so warm, so cool, so young, so on top of his game. How could this be? I saw him all the time on Meet The Press, WRC NBC4 in DC when he would join the local news teams for political insights, MSNBC and more. This can't be real. I really enjoyed the pairing MSNBC did during the election of Tim Russert, Chris Mathews, Keith Olbermann, Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw for commentary and opinions. I looked forward to that each week as well.

Tim Russert wrote two books: Big Russ And Me and The Wisdom Of Our Fathers.

MSNBC has set up a special section on thier site for condolences and thoughts at: msnbc.com.

WRC NBC4 has done the same: www.nbc4.com.

Heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family and friends and all his viewers.
