The "Maharaja of the Keyboard" Oscar Peteron (1925-2007)

Oscar Peterson (1925-2007) once hailed by Duke Ellington as the "Maharaja of the keyboard" died today in Mississauga, Ontario. The Canadian Jazz pianist took home eight Grammys during his seven-decade career. Oscar Peterson led his famed trio throught the 1950's and also collaborated with Ella FItzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Charlie Parker.
