DJ Johnny Starks AKA Koolout on 107.5 FM WGCI in Chicago broke the news during his show with Grammy Award winning co-writer of Kanye West's "Jesus Walks", Hip-Hop artist Rhymefest that Kanye West's mom Mrs. Donda West passed away Sunday.
Dr. West had just written and released a book in May 2007 called Raising Kanye.
