MC Hammer Kicks Off DC Grooves: City's Outdoor Concert Series - September 6th, 2007

I saw MC Hammer perform tonite on my way home from work while downtown at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza in front of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

Before I got there I passed The Warner Theatre and bumped into a crowd of folks going inside to see Musiq's VH-1 Soul Presents The LuvanMusiq Tour. From the folks I talked to in passing, tickets were $40 and from the outside it had the feel that they were doing a taping for a later airing on VH-1.

M.C. Hammer kicked off this year’s D.C. Grooves series, presented by The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. A great turnout. People from every age range and every nationality. Had to have been over 500 people. DC showed Hammer much love and he went out into the audience several times. His dancers were really very good. They turned it out. He really talked to the audience and gave us great updates on what's been going with his life including a new album coming out later this year. He did some of his old and some of his new.

MC Hammer dropped by Channel 9 this morning and was interviewed by Andrea Roane and also interviewed on FOX5DC.

Hammer's official blog site is: mchammer.blogspot.com and his official myspace page is myspace.com.mchammer.

Coming up on Friday, September 14th is Willie Colon.
On Thursday, September 20th Little Richard.

Showtimes start at 7:00 PM for each performance each week.
