June 7th, 1958 - Prince, one of the leading Rock, R&B, Soul, artists and producers of the 1980's and 1990's, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His movie Purple Rain (1984) was hailed by some critics as the best Rock Movie Ever and earned Prince an Oscar for Best Original Song Score and Soundtrack Album.
