"Star Wars Animated" First Glimpse?!

This new website, talesofthenewrepublic.com was launched today, Friday, May 25th, 2007 - As we all know by now, the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

The disclaimer on the top of the page cleary states "Disclaimer: This is not an offical Lucasfilm Production" but the style of the video trailer and the pics below it actually match the officially released pics from the Star Wars Convention above. And to add further mystery they put a question mark after "Coming Soon?" So, I guess we will have to wait and see if this is the work in progress, a fan made video, or "the" official Lucasfilm Production project.

Could this be a sneek peak of the new CGI animated Star Wars TV series that is expected to premiere in 2008?

At George Lucas' appearance at the 2007 William S. Paley Television Festival, Lucas revealed that the title of the series will be called "Clone Wars" and that it would be a unique style of dimensional 3D animation. A Star Wars TV series that takes place between Episode II and Episode III. He also stated then that they are planning for 100 episodes.

Check out the video below and see what you think.
