Morgan Beats Howard in Double Overtime Final Seconds Homecoming Stunner

These are the types of losses that hurt any coach and team when your side is so close to winning the whole thing in the game's last seconds. This actually was a very low scoring game. The scored seemed to stay at 3-6 for most of the first half. Both sides made some mistakes and had chances almost handed to them for it to go either way, especially in the 4th Quarter. Howard was given a second chance to win it all in the end but Morgan recovered that fumble and "that was all she wrote!"

Judging by both coaches after-game interviews, neither was really satisfied how their teams played today and I could see what they meant. It honestly felt like a toss-up by the end of the game, even with Morgan's win because both sides did not seem to be in the zone consistently playing their own respective "top games" but as they say, "A W in the Win Column is a W in the Win Column." I think both sides still need work for the rest of the season even though this was Howard's Homecoming. Still a great game to watch. There is nothing like watching HBCU Football in the Fall!

Recap: After going into Double Overtime with the score 12-12, Howard fumbled the ball at the 1-Yard-Line which gave an open opportunity for a Morgan turnover. Morgan ran the ball for an incredible 99-yard fumble return TD.

Final Score in Double Overtime:

Morgan 18
Howard 12
