President Obama Nominates Judge Sonia Sotomayor
The President nominates Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court, read his remarks and get to know her. May 26, 2009. (Public Domain)
If confirmed, this would make Judge Sonia Sotomayor of New York the Supreme Court's first Hispanic American justice. Only 2 women have been justices on the US Supreme Court; Sandra Day O'Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
