Saturday Graphic Novels Spotlight - 'BatMan: Dark Knight Dynasty' & 'Batman: Hong Kong'
Speaking of Batman, this is amazing to me but I had never thought of BatMan as a Knight. Not in the classic since of the word. However, I knew that Batman is also known as The Dark Knight.
Yet and still, as much as I have loved the different incarnations of Batman over the years, and as much as I love reading books on King Arthur and The Knights of The Roundtable, I had never put the two together until I read this graphic novel.
Batman: Dark Knight Dynasty published by DC Comics came out in 1997 but I didn't see or hear of it until last month. A good read that would make a good movie.
BatMan: Dark Knight Dynasty is a graphic novel story about Batman that takes place over three time periods. The past, the present and the future. The story of him in the past I think is the best out of the three. He basically faces the same foe in three different time periods.
BatMan: Hong Kong is another excellent graphic novel that takes Batman all the way to Hong Kong to solve a series of murder mysteries. This is a well done storyline that also made me think of Batman for the first time in the "knight" sense or in the "samurai" sense. This one came out in 2003 also by DC Comics and again, both covers and their interesting storylines caught my eye. Good reading!
