TransAfrica Forum, afrikafé, AFI presents The New African Films Festival with the generous support of BET J and Radio One VIP Reception with Danny Glover Thursday, December 7, 2006 6:30pm reception; 7:45pm screening of Bamako (followed by discussion). Performances by African Drummer Baba Ngwa and spoken-word Artist Omekongo Dibinga.
TransAfrica Forum and its partners are proud to host an opening night reception for the 3rd annual New African Films Festival. The vibrancy of African filmmaking from all corners of the continent will be on display throughout the weekend, including Washington, DC premieres of Abderrahmane Sissako’s Bamako; Abeni from Nigeria; and the award-winning Indigénes (Days of Glory.) The festival is presented by TransAfrica Forum, afrikafé and AFI, and made possible by the generous support of BET J and Radio One.
