April Ryan - American Urban Radio Networks White House Correspondent - Dynamic!

I watch Press Conference in general because they are interesting to me. I think it is because we get a chance to hear the story Live as it is developing, etc. These can be Press Conferences in Sports, Politics, Entertainment, Businesss and more.

Another press conference that is very interesting to me is The White House Press Conference. Every week I try to tune into the White House Press Conference broadcast on C-SPAN and locally in DC/MD/VA on C-SPAN Radio 90.1 FM. I never am sure what time they have them, so I tend to just check in to see when or if they have one that day. Press Conferences are interesting to me on a whole nother level that is hard to describe because there are usually so many facets and dynamics going on each week for where we are in the world and I like to see how the different spokesmen handle the situation and how the press and media handle themselves and thier questions when there is so much to deal with.

Yeah, there are some frustrating moments even for us as listeners, viewers and voters and there are truly some Spokesman and Spokeswomen who I didn't think did that great of a job, but for some reason, it is always interesting to me, whether I like whichever administration or not.

The whole Press Conference scenario and interaction between the spokesman and the press are something they always do scenes about in movies and TV too. It is a situation that is often and most imitated.

With all that said, there is this one reporter who I always love to hear and my ears always perk up when she's on because her questions are always on point for issues that are going on in Black America and the world, she has it covered. Whether they are broadcasting out of The White House or are travelling in the Official Press Pool with The President, Vice President or First Lady. This lady deals with reality issues that we face every day that are usually never even addressed. Issues with Black America, issues with Africa, issues with the Carribean at home and abroad. She does her homework, lays the groundwork and gets right to the point and asks the right questions. Questions that I find myself having wondered about that same week. Issues that relate to us as Black People and as African-Americans and the world in many dimensions we rarely heard even addressed.

I know reporters must have to deal with a lot down there with every issue going on in the world and the different styles, ways and moods of the various Press Spokesmen and Spokeswomen who dispense information and take questions in their own ways which can fluctuate with each new administration and sometimes as we have seen, the way spokesmen can change more then once in one administration.

But this dynamic lady is a real trooper who I always listen out for on TV and Cable and listen out for every chance I get because her questions are always good ones, that are on point. As a matter of fact, she makes listening to the Press Conferences even more interesting because I know whenever she is called, whatever she asks, it's gonna be something good and for a good reason.

Who am I talking about? If you don't recognize her picture from having seen her on TV and Cable or listening to her White House Reports heard locally on 1450 WOL AM The Power, I'm talking about none other then April Ryan. Yes, I love me some April Ryan! She gets the job done and knows how to get that question in even when the Spokesman tries to duck, dodge or go on to the next reporter. I mean, this lady has real perseverance even under circumstances when I am listening saying to myself, "No, that spokesman didn't just tell her that!" (Yes, I am vocal to the TV and Radio when I tune into these things!) She will keep trying until she gets her answer. She comes back and tries again. Endurance. I admire this lady and try to catch her reports every chance I get. Who is April Ryan? Dig it!:
