Van Hunt was scheduled to perform in DC at The Black Cat on June 9th. Unfortunately, it was cancelled. I was disappointed but also felt fortunate I had the chance to see him a month earlier in Baltimore at The Recher Theater. Towson is a beautiful area.
He put on great show. OK, I will say this, I am a big fan of Prince, but as I was watching Van Hunt, I felt I was getting a feeling of what it must of felt like to see Prince at one of his early performances in the 70s before he became a household name. It was just that nice of a night.
Van Hunt's first album was incredible filled with great grooves and the video for Dust was great stuff.
His second album is awesome too. The man seems to able to do it all. And when he takes it back to the 80s, he really takes you there!
Van Hunt! Come back to DC soon! A little bird just told me he will be back too. Stay tuned!
